Global VP Electrical Capability
Our client is a major OEM aerospace manufacturer who like the whole of the aviation industry, has made a commitment to revolutionise energy systems on board aircraft. This will see hydraulic and pneumatic power gradually being replaced by electricity. The increasing electrification of functions on board aircraft is a formative and irreversible change that will move faster and intensify with future programmes. The race for talent in the field of electrification is fierce with growing demand across aerospace, automotive and industrial power sectors given the technology drivers in these markets. There’s also an array of consultancies and start-up organisations, further raising demand for candidates with relevant specialist skills.
Our client was looking to recruit a Global VP of Electrical Capability responsible for developing an R&T strategy for electrical capability and for providing World Class technical expertise in electrical engineering and its application in pursuit of the more-electric aircraft.
Having undertaken an extensive international search, Wickland Westcott delivered a shortlist of candidates with in-depth technical expertise gained across large corporates and innovative start-up companies. The successful US-based candidate brought significant Executive-level power and energy management experience and a strong track record of technology development and commercialisation in a number of contrasting application areas.
Wickland Westcott have adopted the Voluntary Code of Conduct for Executive Search Firms which, amongst other things, sets a minimum expectation level for gender diversity for each search assignment.
