Head of Procurement - Driving Performance Improvement, Yorkshire, c £65,000 plus bonus and benefits

Operating in a challenging business climate, this well established Group has embarked on a significant change programme with the objective of transforming the organisation and ensuring it maximises its potential in the long term.  Reporting to the Group Commercial Director your focus will be on achieving significant cost savings as well as making major improvements to efficiency and service levels.  You will also play a key role in a culture change programme designed to make the business more  market orientated and drive a more strategic and commercial approach to supply chain management across the entire organisation. 

This is a highly influential and challenging role and the person appointed will need the intellect and interpersonal skills to influence at executive level and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders.  Managing a small team the requirement is for someone with first class leadership skills  and the ability to win ‘hearts and minds’ at all levels and drive  transformational change.

Of graduate calibre you should have a proven track record in delivering transformational change of procurement processes and have a strong delivery focus. You should also possess extensive knowledge and experience of developing, negotiating and managing the delivery of maximum value from commercial contracts, ideally gained in one of the following sectors – power generation, integrated utility sector, energy oil or gas, infrastructure or construction.  Above all you must have a strong business and commercial acumen including first class financial and contractual analytical skills and be able to demonstrate how you have had a significant impact on the profit, cashflow and working capital performance of a business.
