Approachable Client Nets a Big Fish
CG is a major global manufacturer in the arena of electricity transmission and distribution. It forms the international arm of the Indian company, Crompton Greaves, itself a member of the Avantha Group. Their need was for an Executive Vice President EMEA, to be based at Mechelen, Belgium.
Wickland Westcott conducted an extensive search to identify candidates capable of managing an integrated manufacturing and sales operation currently turning over €450m. The person selected from the high calibre multi-national shortlist was a respected name from a direct competitor.
Two key things attracted him: 1) the CG’s growing international reputation over the last 6 years, particularly in the area of post-acquisition assimilation, and 2) their professionalism, pace and warmth in handling the recruitment process. Relevant executives at CG made themselves available, impressing all those on the shortlist, even the unsuccessful candidates.
